Our properties are located in the heart of the Borders renowned for its turbulent history, fishing, rugby, golfing and rolling landscape. Violet Cottage in the village of Ancrum 4 miles north of Jedburgh on the A68 and our flat is in the centre of Kelso 9 miles to the east.
The pretty market town of Jedburgh is dominated by the ruins of the magnificent Augustinian Abbey. Visitor attractions include Mary Queen of Scots House and the Jedburgh Jail & Dungeons. There are numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants to sample.
Kelso, with its cobbled streets, is arguably the most attractive Border town. Situated next to the Tweed the town is a Mecca for fishermen. Relax inthe town and browse around the traditional and boutique shops. There are plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Attractions include the majestic Floors Castle and Kelso Racecourse. Springwood Park is the home of the Border Union Show and hosts many other events including dog shows, ram sales and fishing fair. All are within walking distance of our property.
